Video surveillance has come a long way with time. It used to be black and white cameras were the only thing offered. As time progressed, we seen the advanced technology of cameras with the different capabilities they were designed for. A few things to consider when searching for the right camera and/or lens for your application. Basic OEM cameras are fairly priced and range anywhere from $80-$250, wherease high end brand name cameras can cost anywhere from $150 to $1,000's of dollars depending on the camera application and what it is designed to do. Elliott Security & Alarm Systems provides both OEM and brand name video surveillance equipment to the industrial, commercial and even to the residential consumer. To give you an idea of the quality of camera equipment we use, take a look at the daytime and nighttime comparison photos we took from one of our customers. This is a snapshot taken remotely via Internet Explorer using one of our OEM network dvr units and a 540 high resolution OEM brand camera which has a SONY chipset installed into the camera.

As you can see from the photos above, we only use high quality equipment. Our theory to you; if you are going to choose a video surveillance system, you should only install high quality equipment in the beginning. Otherwise you're just waisting your time and a lot of money.

We are announcing the latest camera additions. The 'PIXIM' 212D IR Indoor Dome Camera. This camera is incredibly flexible to install with its 3-axis camera construction, which makes the camera ceiling, wall or slope mountable. It has a mechanical filter exchange for true day and night, with a built-in WDR function. It is capable of seeing up to 80 feet in total darkness with its 24 Illuminating Infrared LEDs.
